Who reviews it

Mike Basti reads every page on this site before it is published. Loan programs, guides and insights are all reviewed by the same licensed mortgage broker who works with borrowers every day.

Where the facts come from

Limits, rules and definitions come from primary sources: the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), HUD and FHA, VA.gov, the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) conforming loan limits, and the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guides. Where a page cites these sources, you will find them under “Sources & further reading” near the bottom of the page.

Lender terms such as minimum credit score, maximum loan amount and down payment vary by lender and by file. We describe typical ranges and say when a figure is a typical range and not a guarantee.

What we do not publish

Rates change daily and depend on the borrower, so we do not post a rate quote on this site. Call or text for a quote based on your file.

How often we re-check it

Every page is re-checked at least every 6 months. We also update a page right away when a rule, limit or program changes, such as new FHFA conforming loan limits. Insight articles show their publication date.

Client stories and examples

Boxes labeled “A client story” describe real files handled by Save Financial. We remove names and identifying details before publishing. Terms and outcomes vary by borrower, lender and property.
